The Production Team and Cast Members Outside Dublins Project Arts Centre
I was kindly asked by the LemonSoap Productions team to join them for their new project "Boyfriends".
Following a three-month affair between two anonymous men, Boyfriends charts the ups and downs and roundabouts of a modern situationship. As they swing through four million one hundred and ninety-one thousand possibilities of what they might mean to one another, through time, sex, Madonna songs, nightclubs, period dramas and calorie counting, Boyfriends asks us to ponder on that age old question: what the f*ck is romance anyway?
I leant into the ideas and period drama visual language generated by the photoshoot. The play shows us moments on time over the course of the relationship between the two men, I reflected this in my design. A self referential piece, I displayed the journey we go on with them, these moments pasted together for us as an audience to see.
